Description
This is my entry to *foudroyant's competition "Crossed Swords".
I was trying to think of a battle scene I can do within seven days (taking my lack of commitment and very narrow boredom threshold into account) and then I saw my fountain pen... I thought hey what about that age-old battle between the pen and the sword.
People say the pen is mightier than the sword. I disagree. They each complement each other. While the pen harms your opponent emotionally (unless you choose to stab them, which is highly unlikely ), the sword harms them physically. The pen cannot harm physically (excepting the circumstance mentioned above), while the sword cannot harm emotionally (unless it breaks and was very precious to you... )
Anyway. So one is strong where the other is weak. Hence they are one.
I'm so proud of myself. I feel like a philosopher.
The sword was a problem. I had no idea what a sword would look like this close. And I've lost all the pictures I had of the Lord of the Rings guys and their swords. So I spent ten minutes staring at Eragon's and Brom's swords on my poster before attempting my drawing.
And my eyes hurt from trying to see the details on the pen...
Time:- about 3 hours.
Tools:- 2B, 4B and a 6B. graphite pencil.

Oh my God. You're a genius.
I discovered this after the contest, as I discovered the contest itself, so let me simply offer my congratulations.
