... this is me. =D

My first pastels painting! I like it a lot. :dance: It's for my mom, cos she's been bugging my aunt for years to paint her a hippo, and now I did it for her! Yey!!!

Okay, so what I did was stretch some ordinary paper. Then I used watercolour to lay a very rough base colour scheme. Then I used my pastels, putting on layer after layer. And voila!

Enjoy! :D

Tools:- Marie's Watercolour, Windsor&Newton soft pastels, Faber Castell hard pastels
Size:- about A3
Time:- 6 hours? maybe 7

I'm afraid to use mine because I might treat it like my oil pastels and they're kind of expensive and thin XP

Not all of them. The ones I have are expensive, but they're nice and thick. It simply depends on where you look for them. ^^

oh wow... instant fav... i love how you've incorprated all the hues on the Hippo's skin, the oranges and pinks. It makes it look realistic and is nice to look at. That water :o just... wow...
