Artist's Comments

I think this may be a still life...

Ah well. My first in three (or maybe two) pictures of hands. I wanted something that won't end up with me getting bored out of my mind, so thought a whole ensemble would go down better than just a plain hand. :D

I tried to get more white in, as per :devwiltedlife:'s suggestion. Hope I succeeded at least somewhat.

So I just finished it now, from two fingers and a quarter of the apple, so can't have taken me that long...

Tools:- Derwent soft range graphite pencils on ordinary office paper.
Time:- Erm... 3 or 4 hours...
Size:- A4

I believe in Jesus Christ as my Savior. If you do too and aren't scared to admit it, then copy and paste this in your signature.

 Why thank you! Sorry I haven't checked out your lastest art. I got back after a hectic last week and now I have 131 deviations to sort through! :faint: I'll get there...

Wow... This is REALLY good... I think probably one of your best... Really well done...
Ummm... I was wondering though, how much blurring and smudging do you do with your finger/blunt object?
Cos I've got a sketch coming along and lately it seems I've of smudging (It'll be a while till I post it *sigh*... The workload in matric is getting to me)

It seems we have just enough religion for us to hate but not enough for us to love each other

I only smudged with my finger on the background, where those dark patches are. I didn't want any texture there at all, so as not to hog extra attention. :D No, both my aunt and my teacher would chop my fingers off if I smudged anything at the moment. I just use a kind of crosshatching technique coupled with regular shading.
And thanks! :D
